About
PenTab Academy
Welcome to PenTab Academy, a faith-based, nonprofit school that has been transforming the Miami Gardens community through quality education, nurturing care, and a strong Christian foundation. Our journey began with the vision of Pastor S. Robert Stewart, who dreamt of a school that would “Proclaim the Whole Gospel of Jesus Christ, minister to the needs of the community, and demonstrate the all-encompassing love of God.” This vision has become a reality thanks to the dedication of our planning team and our first principal, Dr. Gillian Phillips, whose leadership and faith have laid a solid foundation for our school’s success.

We believe in fostering a positive and respectful school culture. Our discipline policy is based on promoting Christ-like character traits, encouraging responsibility, and ensuring a safe environment for all students. The specifics of our discipline policy are outlined in the student handbook.
From Humble Beginnings to Flourishing Growth
PenTab Academy started with just five students—our “original five”—and quickly grew to 30 by the end of the first year. Under the leadership of Dr. Barbara Sharpe, our second principal, we saw remarkable growth and transformation. By the end of 2003-04, our student body had grown to 100. Today, we serve nearly 300 students with a team of six administrators, seven support staff, and more than 20 faculty members. This steady growth reflects our commitment to providing a high-quality education and our unwavering belief that all children can learn.
